I have a washer that is old and stopped spinning. The problem is the carbon brushes that are on the motor are worn. This is an easy task and more importantly cheap! Look at spares2go.co.uk or espares.co.uk look for your model number and look for carbon brushes. I paid about £7.50 for a set of 2.
When fitting you need to turn power off, remove the washer lid (screws at the rear) and locate the motor, this will be connected to the drum via a rubber belt. The brushes are situated around the shaft of the motor. The brushes will have an electrical connection, again nothing to worry about, just a spade connector that is pushed on or pulled off. It can be a bit stiff after 7yrs but just give it a wiggle. The brushes will sit in a plastic bracket which clips in to the motor, you may need a screwdriver (flat point) to ease the old ones out. just clip the new ones in and reconnect the electrical connections.
