Mend Ford Escort Battery

How do I put new terminals on my Battery cables?

I have a 92 Ford Escort and the terminals were corroded- so I tried to put new ones on- it looked pretty self explanitory- and now it won't start with a jump or anything. What Could I have done wrong?

There may be corrosion on the battery posts which may be insulating the terms and why a jump sftart will not work. you do not say if the terminals were solder type or screw type?
or you may have loosend the earthing point on the body.
