When a disc is inserted, the disc will spin and "READING" is displayed. The disc stops spinning, and "NO DISC" is displayed. When the disc is spinning it "sounds" like something is intermittantly attempting to stop it. The projector is operating normally.
I have the same unit with the same problem. I have been told that the dvd lens needs replaced but not sure if that is true. I have an old dvd player and I ma going to try and use the lens from that - will put in another post to let you know how I get on - when I get round to it. To be honest I have a small external dvd player and the quality through the back ports is fine - plus it allows for more control since I do not have the original remote

are these original discs or copies/pirated.
try using a lense cleaner.
If it will play original ( shop bought dvds )
but not copies/pirated it may need a hack/crack.
if it still wont play a original dvd properly
the chances are its the laser.
replacement is cheaper than fixing.
