I have just had this problem with my washing machine. The engineer said there was a blockage their was money and 2 keys stuck. Once they were removed it worked like new again.

Check the door safety latch (the little thingy that keeps the lid closed during spin cycle). If it is not clicking over to latch the door the tub will not spin. Part is about $50 and not hard to replace. Also check drain hoses to see if they are clear - drain or bail water out and turn washer over and look inside hoses. Thirdly, remove front panel and see if belt drive is loose or broken. Tighten or replace (have to use washing machine belt, not car belt)

Hi Phil,
I've got the same problem with my Indesit Model WN1263 WG.
It tries to start spinning but immediately cuts back to slow speed rotation.
I've had a look at the motor but this seems OK.
Another thought is that the pressure tube is blocked/pressure swithch faulty, fooling the system into thinking the tub is full of water.
I've not had time to check this.
Otherwise I feel it must be the electronic control board - an expensive option, Paul
