how do i change brake pads on a rover 200?

Changing the break pads is not the hardest job in the world, I wouldn't say I'm the most mechanically minded person and I manage it. It should take you 30mins 1hr max. To be honest the best thing to do would be to buy a Haynes manual, I know there not the cheapest thing at nearly £20 but it does talk you through it step by step. If not, you need to make sure you change all the pads on both sides at the same time as a must or you'll get uneven wear. Firstly you need to open the bonnet and locate the brake fluid reservoir (look in the manual if you can't find it) and unscrew the lid. Then, you need to jack up the front of the car and remove the wheels, in front of you you'll have the brake disc and the calliper is at the top. If you look at the caliper there are to small screws on the outer (they'll be the same size as the nuts that come with the brake pads) edge, you need to remove the one closest to the top, the whole thing may turn (you'll get what I mean) so you may have to clamp it to remove the screw. Wants the screw is removed the whole calliper will open, do this by turning it so it hinging on the other screw. If it doesn't move with ease, push the calliper backwards and forwardswards until it is free to do so. wants the calliper is open, take out the two brake pads (one either side). You now need to push the brake cyclinder back in so you have enough room for the new pads, the cyclinder is inside the calliper that you moved over, cant miss it! (theres usually a round disc over the top of it that need removing and cleaning) the eaisest way to push it back in is to use a G-clamp and a pieces of wood. Wants its all the way back in, place the new pads back where the old ones came from. ( you have to cover the pads in a copper paste, ask the guy where you buy the pads from because I'm not sure what it is called, it stops them from sweaking). The calliper should easily close back over and replace the screw with the one in the box, make sure the screw at the other side hasn't become loose (replace if needs be) job done. BUT DON'T FORGET TO SCREW THE LID BACK ON YOUR BRAKE RESERVOIR!!!
