Have the model detailed above, and it is showing error code c3 on the display, it beeps continuously, and the pump runs continuously, even when turned off on the programme selector. It only turns off when isolated at the mains.

Any idea on where the water can come from? I followed the tip, dryed up the water on the bottom plate, removed a lot of dust in the front shutter rubber cuff, tested running 2 short programs, put the machine back again, run a full program and now I have got C3 again. So. Where can the water come from?

I just fixed this problem on my own AEG. seems if a little bit of water gets in the bottom of the machine it trips the overflow sensor and the machine turns on the pump so you don't flood your laundry. As the other person has said, open up your machine (unscrew at the back) and dry out the bottom, including under the trip switch (under the drum) should reset and work fine after that. See if there is any obvious cause that might be causing the leak, I just had to change a washer and tighten a connection...
