Mend Samsung SyncMaster 710V Switched Small

How can I get this of my screen?

I have a Samsung Sync Master 710v. I switched the screen off and when I switched it back on it said 'not optimum mode' in a small box with a large question mark and a black background and it just kept floating round the screen. I tried everything to get rid of it but it won't go away.
How do I get rid of it?
