Had ours two years paid £320 and the inside wall in back of fridge freezer has caved in and the cooler has removed itself from the wall inside of the fridge thus making gas escape. Cannot be repaired! Called supplier and they said they will not refund unless manafacturing fault which I classs this as. We have not moved our fridge freezer from the spot it was delivered to but yet they are trying to say its wear and tear even though the damage is inside the fridge. I'm disgusted. We paid a little etc to get a decent fridge freezer with water dispenser and after two years its gone and we have to buy a new one as well as paya Beko engineer £60 to tell us that. Will never buy Beko again.

Mine has never really worked properly. I sent it back originally for same replacement due to temp problems. This 2nd one, now just under 4 yrs old, won't keep food fresh. (min temp in fridge is 9 degrees)
The same happened to my parents, but they changed within first year for a samsung...
sensible choice.
Really regret buying Beko.

Hi Wendy Mew

I would be very interested in hearing from you about this incident. Please could you email me on donkerperd at yahoo.co.uk to discuss it

My son left the door open all night.
Here are the symptoms - Frost inside Freezer on back panel - food defrosting.

Leave switched off for a day - empty the overflow tray above the condensing unit at the back.
(if you dont do this you get a gurgling noise whenever you close the door - this is just the defrost run off filling the overflow tray and the output from the vacume making bubbles..)

Works fine now

me too mine is 11 month out of warrenty, i have been told by beko it could be the thermostat? and will have to pay £80 call out charge and pay for any parts, after reading these reviews i think it would be best to buy a different make.

I bought the same model from Argos 2 years ago. 7 months after I bought it the compressor stopped working (the same thing as Steve Riley) the door/s had not been left open for too long it stopped working at night while we were sleeping. Argos told me I had to contact BEKO and get it fixed under the guarantee. A new compressor was fitted and all was fine until last week, when I woke in the night to find my flat was full of fumes. I could tell the fumes were coming from the fridge freezer so my husband pulled it out to check the back, we found that a part which was connected to the compressor had melted and was burnt. Who knows what would have happened if I hadn't needed the loo in the night, would it have eventually caught fire? it took many hours to get rid of the fumes from our flat and my husband felt unwell for a while. I have been advised to seek compensation by Consumer Direct, also they said they would pass it on to Trading Standards although there is no guarantee they will do anything.
I will never buy anything manufactured by BEKO again.

Chances are you've left the door open and allowed an excessive amount of humidity to freeze inside causing a blockage of the air circulation to the condenser and preventing the frost prevention system functioning. My suggestion would be to run down the supplies then completely defrost the freezer until no more water escapes - this means keeping the power off with the door open for at least 24 hours. You will get water running out of the bottom if this is the fault so have some towels ready. Don't use any heaters as this could damage the fan or condenser pipes. Be patient and let the circulating room air do the job. If this doesn't work then the next thing to try would be the thermostat. After that there aren't really any user serviceable parts so it would be time to call out an engineer but its unlikely that will be necessary.
