I had an intermittant alrm fault on my car. I couldn't get anyone other than main dealer to diagnose it. It was the rear side window alarm wire. New window required. Next it was the alarm sounder. More money.
Next I noticed it after opening the bonnet. The bonnet has a switch at the back that stuck.

my alarm keeps going off on its own.i have a 1.8 auto elegance.sometimes it dont go off but recently it goes off every 3-4 hours

Take the small rear storage panal off look inward's toward's the rear light and you'll see the electric conection's and two screw's/bolt's . disconect the electric's undo screw's/bolt's.... make sure you hold the rear unit as the hole thing come's off and replace in reverse order.
