Hi Michael, ive just recently done this on 2 cars to start them and bypass the immobiliser. get a length of cable (normal house cable is fine) and strip both ends as if fitting a plug. Next attatch 1 end to the battery (pos & neg) go into the car and turn the ignition on so lights, fuel pump etc works. go back to engine locate the starter motor and locate the 2 wires 1 thick + 1 thin. remove the thin one and put the positive wire from the battery to the thick wire and put the thin one to where you removed the thin wire and you should get the engine kicking in remove wires as soon as engine starts if you dont get anything youll have to replace the starter motor. Overall i know it looks a lot but its very easy remember to keep the ignition lights (dash) on for fuel pump to work (most people forget) good luck and hope this helps.
