Mend Hotpoint WMA31 Washing Machine Drum Belt Repair

hotpoint aquarius wma31, how do I fit a drum belt?

There seems to be no way of slackening the belt tension and I cannot stretch the new belt over the motor pulley. I have tried looping the belt over the motor pulley first and then turning the drum but the belt is not stretchy enough. I have checked that it is the correct belt. Can anyone advise me please?

take off lid feed belt down under motor pulley , get a large cable tie , and cable tie the belt to the drum pulley , turn the drum from inside until the belt is fully fitted , reverse the belt so the tie is visible at the top and cut it off , easy peasy

lid off bottom panel off plug out slip the belt over the motor then onto the drum pulley slowly turn the belt will fit in place it is a strech belt.
