Mend Creda 48357 Concept Ring

How can I fix my Creda Concept halogen ring?

I have a Creda Concept cooker model 48357. The halogen fast ring operates only on maximum (no. 6) and minimum (no. 1) and not inbetween these settings. How can I fix this problem? The actual ring does work but I need to be able to control the settings. If you can help and it is just a small repair job can you also let me know how to get to the broken part to repair it. I would appreciate any help on this matter.
