I have a toyota estima lucida luxury just recently and not always when i start it up it smokes badly, After driving for a little while the smoke calms down. But the other day it was smoking really badly has any one any ideas of what i should be looking at doing to stop this. (Its a auto diesel)
head gasket blown = plumb of white smoke -car doesn`t start.
cracked head= white fumes which settle`s when the car drives- car works

As you posted this question in May no doubt you already now know what the cause was. For others scanning these messages be advised that the most likely cause, if the smoke is white, is a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head.

2 things could be at fault, 1 has the vehicle been serviced recently, 2 if so you may have a faulty injector or two, not uncommon. i work for toyota and see these at least once a week.
