Mend Hotpoint DWF 33 Switched Machine

Hotpoint Aquarious DWF 33?

When switched on, the waste pump is running (as normal when first switched on) but sometimes the machine needs to be tilted (to slosh the water) to start the cycle.
This can happen also during a cycle.
Is there some sort of water level sensor/ pick up pipe or something that could be dirty or faulty?

your right its a sencor switch!;it runs off the side of the pump its a skinny black pipe and runs up the washer to sencor .take pipe of pump and sencor and clean out ;make sure you can blow through it
