Noisey Toilet Flush?

We had the same problem. We looked at the pipes where the vibration was coming from, but no joy! Then after three weeks of being driven almost mad I took the top of the cistern off. I noticed that when a cold tape was turned on the vibration stopped. A neighbour told me about a valve that can be put on the cold feed supply to the cistern. The problem was all due to the pressure that was filling the toilet cistern. When the valve was fitted we could adjust the amount of pressure or flow speed in to the cistern. The problem stopped straight away.

We cured it! Same problem with our en-suite toilet,loud horn like noise when toilet is flushed.We turned off water,took out the ball & rod inside cistern,unscrewed the lid of the valve,took out the washer,looked into the tiny hole where water coming in,there was a bit of dirt inside,I think its limescale.We used a tiny screwdriver,poked into it a few times until we couldn't see the dirt anymore,slowly turned on the water to flushed away the now cloudy water inside it.Put back everything eg ball & rod. Flushed and no more noise. Relief!(sorry for the pun)

this is water hammer. you might be able to cure it temporarily
by reducing your water pressure by turning dow the stopcock to a lower flow

diaphragm in float valve gone hard with time, fit new diaphragm or new float valve.
