How can i fix pull cord assembly on my Briggs-Stratton 5 hp rototiller engi?

I have an old craftsmen rear tine tiller sold by Sears,model # 917.299253,i tried to replace pull start cord and now i can't get it to recoil cord to start position,may have gotten spring coil? put back in wrong,not sure,what do i do to fix it? The engine is a Briggs-Stratton 5 hp engine.

you have to take the cover back off and remove the cord ... then in the same direction that you pull cord to start wind about five times or so then re attatch cord while holding the reel from unwinding.. then allow cord to wind up once tied and ur done..
