Mend Bissell ProHeat Proheat Carpet Cleaner

How can I fix my Bissell ProHeat Carpet Cleaner?

When it is turned on solution/water leaks from the bottom soaking the carpet. The sprayer works, but there is all this extra solution. My son had same problem and bought a new one, but gave me his old one thinking that between the two I could fix one to work properly. There used to be a troubleshooting site available from Bissell, but can't find one currently. Would appreciate some help.
