There is a technique used by entered a separate 4 digit code number by using the door lock button (something like ..
1) Get in car. lock doors. wait a few seconds.
2) press the door lock button on dash to left and listen for number of clicks (num clicks = 1st digit of code)
3) let go of door lock button. 1st digit entered.
4) repeat steps 2 and 3 for 2nd, 3rd and 4th digits.
This overrides immobilizer for 15 minutes. As long as you keep driving your ok. If you stop the engine after 15 mins you need to do it all again to start it.
Your Renault dealer will need your chassis code and other info to release this secret code to you and may refuse or at least charge you for it.
This happened to me on a 1998 1.6 scenic , the immobilizer was temperamental. Sold car in end.
