Installing a boiler?

yes anyone can install a boiler if your corgi or competent.

but if your a d.i.yer and think your competent and you make a f**k up the courts will see you as not competent and give you a nice big fine.
it is also illegal to install a boiler for money if your not corgi.

i have never met a d.i.yer that can do a soundness test, purge the gas, gas pipe sizing, etc i could go on


so in common sense the d . i . y er is not competent
of cause blow yourself up by all means but not everyone one around you........

a householder or indeed anyone can instal the boiler and flue, but can not legaly do any work on the gas.

the current regulations donot permit diy boiler installations-this is due to compliance with these building regs that certain certificates are issued by the installer this is your safeguard should anything go wrong ie-corgi registered-this organisation overseas the standards of installations and installers of gas appliances-corgi engineers spend many hours in class room and in workshop to obtain a standard that is required to become ACS acredited

9/10 a corgi installer won't finish off someone elses half finished work. a installer will like to do job start to finish, example - how does he know its secured to the wall properly and not going to fall off later, that the flue is going to exit the wall and be in regs.
for what time you can save him is nothing, let him do it all,then if theres a problem you can't get blamed.
