block the front wheels so the car wont move, release the handbrake, jack the rear of the vehicle and get underneath, from underneath look towards the brake drum housing you will see a rubber grommit, pop out the grommit this gives you access to the brake adjuster. Gently spin the wheel see how many times it spins, then with a flat head screw driver move the brake adjuster cog either a couple of turns upwards or if the wheel locks on or barely turns then turn the cog downwards until you are satisfied the wheel doesnt lock up or turn too freely, repeat the process on the other wheel and when you are happy both wheels are pretty much to the same setting you will see your handbrake will not come up as far and locks on better. Please note the process is really trial and error and even dealerships dont always get it spot on so the job may take 5 minutes if youre lucky or you could be on it for hours
