I own a Ranch King that won't move in reverse or forward?

My lawnmower won't shift into forward or revers can anyone help me out as what needs to be done? When shift lever is in slot it looks like it is or should engage. 14.5 horse power with a 42" cut

The spring on the tranmission linkage is worn.
Lift off top plate and move long rod back and forth until you hear a click. The transmission is out of neutral.

i have the same problem with mine i am taking it to a guy saturday to look at it had the same problem with his and he got his working again so as soon as i figure it out i will let you know
