Why does my white knight condenser drier keep tripping the fuse box?

If damp clothes have been left in the drier even for just an hour or so, the next time we try to use it, the drier cuts the mains switch at the fuse box. the only solution has been to empty the drier and leave the door open for long periods of time. sometimes a day before we can use it again. Very frustrating. We have small kids but big wash loads, continuously. If we can't fix this problem, either the kids or the drier will have to go.
