which is best? electric or power shower?

I have a ground floor one bedroomed flat. The fuse box is about 25 years old (new from when property built). I wish to install a shower, but keep getting told numerous things...The bathroom is through the lounge, the water tank is a large split cylinder tank with the cold water feed going in through the top, the hot water filling up in the bottom part (hope this makes sense?!). Which is the easiest and most sensible shower to install? PLease help coz im going out my mind...

Thankyou in advance

Have a decent plumber / bathroom installer inspect and advise. If you can get a power shower and get it installed you will probably never want anything else - Pumps for them can cost quite a bit - mine was £180 as I recall.

A quick browse through here will indicate just how many problems people seem to get with electric showers - you get what you pay for.

Good luck...

So far I have to recommend electric - with a minimum of 8.5kw. As you have a flat and the water cylinder is at floor level or above, you can't really guarantee that the pressure will be good enough for a power shower - which are brilliant, by the way....there again, if there is plenty of hot water available to fill the bath, you could be ok, but the fact that the shower head is higher than the bath taps could prove an issue. With electric, no problems apart from routing the cable back to the fuse box.
