How do I repair the govenor linkage on model 4-36508 Murray riding mower?

What do you mean fix, Is the engine surging up and down, or did the linkage actually break. If its surging, somtimes its not the govenor. The Idle jet in the carborator might be partially clogged making it run lean, causing a surge. If the linkage is broken, go to a local shop w/ your engine modle numbers, and get a new rod.
