mine is doing the same thing mate everything has been done to it apart from the pump ( expensive part ) so decided to change engine worked out cheaper for me .
had new head gasket filters and god knows what else .

If it has a Bosch injection pump around 1997 - then prepare yourself for a pump overhaul and new injectors.
