how do i fix a headphone input jack ?

I Have a sony Minidisc Mz-n707 and the headphone input does not put out any sound unless i put pressure on the headphone plug? when it is plugged in of course. also wanted to know if i can fix it myself? because i called around and no one will do it.

I have the same problem with my MZ-707! The only way I can think of to fix this is to open the unit up and check the connections between the jack and the main board. If they're broken, re-solder them. At least, that's what I intend to try.
I'll post back and let you know how I get on. Good luck.

yep. buy a new one, so add with converting jack input 2.55mm to 3.5mm.

i have the same problem....ive tried to open up my ipod and push the conectors back in place...I guess that the jack actually pushes the conectors back into the housing..!! if its out of warranty..just get a needle in there and try to get the conectors back out....Im still trying...however, this seems to be a problem with headphone inputs everywhere...!! dam them!!

same problem.. this time in a cd player.. I tryed to open it and the plug looked the same as the out line plug, it looked alright.. although, I can only hear from the left headphone or make it a non-stereo mono sound by pulling the plug a bit outside... however.. if someone can please tell me how to fix this myself.. or should I take it to someone and have the risk of getting it worse?

i have the same problem. when i plug my headphone plug in the headphone jack, there isn't any sound. i guess it's because i've dropped it twice on the floor. however, when i put pressure on the plug, i can hear the sound.

i have no idea how to fix this, please advice. i think i have to replace the headphone jack.
