hi,
To remove the cover you will need to remove the air filter housing if you have the standard filter on, there should be 2 bolts to remove the air filter and the connecting tube to the carb.
You will then need to remove the clutch external nut which can eb found under the plastic cover near the rear end of the trasmission casing, this can be difficult as the wheel will turn when you try to undo the nut so you will need to find a way to stop the wheel turning or use a power tool, or you could use the gilera service tool (part no. 020423y), or also you can insert 2 large screwdrivers through the holes in the belt cover to engage the holes in the clutch drum and then have some1 else hold the screwdrivers steady. Under this nut there should be a washer remove that and put it somewhere safe so you do not loose it.
There will then be roughly 10 bolts (not sure on exact ammount) round the edge of the casing you will ened to remove all of these, you will know which ones hold the casing on as 2 of them support different cables, 1 supports the rear brake hose and the other the acclerator cable i think, be careful not to remove the oil sump bolts.
Once these are removed you will need to take out your oil filler cap/dipstick as this will hold the casing on.
It is then a matter or removing the casing it can sometimes be a bit stiff, im sure you will think of a way of loosening it. I personally used a flat blade screwdriver and pryed it off but this can cause minor damage to the casing so i would avoid that.
Hope this helps
