I had the same problem, then I deleted my files on the player it'self ( go to files and delete) then I could add new mp3's or format the device. You have to empty the player before it will do anything else, annoying, but it works.

hello, i had the same problem it turns out that i had it on hold with out realizingcheak that first if not iv been told that turning it on and off and messing with the battery and hold button works.
