i have a used sharp ER-A550. How do i erase it? And start over programming?

You need a service key to turn it to the 6:00 position. Hold down the journal feed key and turn to 7:00 position. This will set it back to factory keyboard and program defaults. You will need a programming manual to set all the items.

Most sharps are reset by Turning the key anti clockwise to 6 o'clock. Hold receipt and journal feeds then turn key to 7 o'clock. This I think will reset the machine but obviously will have absolutely no programming in it at all. You will need a manual to reprogram it.
