Mend Daewoo Stereo Sony Player

How do I remove stereo from Daewoo Matiz?

My X-registration Daewoo Matiz came with a Sony radio/cassette player already installed and I now want to replace it. I've tried using the supplied removal key and followed the instructions but it won't budge. Any tips? Many thanks.

halfords sell adaptors to take up the space left when you remove standard radio cassette its made by autoleads

This is the right part so you can fit your new c.d radio player

Hi, i have a daewoo matiz 1999 model and my cd player stopped working, could anyone tell me if i could buy any cd player from the shop and install it in, or do i need to buy a specific one for matiz, as i am not an expert on cars ( is there anything i need to look out for e.g. volts etc)

I recently bought a 1999 daewoo matiz and want to take out the standard casette/radio and replace it with a cd/mp3/radio. Having NO knowledge of cars- how??? Is it worth taking it somewhere for a professional or is it simple enough to do?

I managed to remove my stereo from my 1999 matiz, but noticed th eoriginal has a brass coloured roller lug on each side which slides into a guide rail on each side.
How on earth do i fit an after market which doesnt have these??

thanks

Don't know if it help anyone but i to remove screws on the passenger side i popped out the glove box so i could get right at them with a screw driver..... at a strange angle but with good pressure they all came out. I used on with a long neck. Just watch your fingers putting popping the glove box back in, its snappy!!!

Thanks for the advice everyone, I ended up installing my new CD player using the crade that came out rather than the quick release (I could not wait to get an adaptor as I already had the car in bits). I hope I never have to take it out again! Getting the facia off was a bitch!

Thanks for the info on this page, recently bought a 1999 matiz and wanted to fit a different cd player... just to add a little info to anyone else who comes along after me... once you have removed your old stereo you will notice a standard din cage does not fit into the space, your old radio/cassette/cd is likely to have had the screw and roller fitting which isn't standard din.

There are 2 custom parts now readily available to ease the pain!

FP-16-00
Facia adaptor allow you to install a car radio of your choice with out altering your cars existing appearance.
and...
PC2-54-4
A harness adaptor lead allows you to install a car radio of your choice with out cutting any of the existing car wiring.

You can get these parts easily on ebay, or try...

http://www.nexxia.co.uk/car_stereo_fitting_kits/daewoo.htm.

The parts are also available at halfords stores nationwide, though be prepared to pay over the odds as I did there! (Didn't do my research!) PLEASE NOTE... If your car had the Sony upgrade from new, you need a different cable to the PC2-54-4!! This only works when swapping the standard daewoo equipment.

Very grateful for the info, regards!

You will probably find that the radio craddle is screwed on both left and right side and is securing your radio.
I own a Y reg Matiz and removed mine today. I also want to change it to a CD player.
Getting to these security screws is a little fiddly but can be done. You have to remove the facia panel which surronds the radio etc - there are 5 screws ( one hidden inside the back of the little storge area below the radio). Once screws are removed - with a bit of pressure and care ease and pull this panel from the dash.
You will then see two screws holding the craddle to the dash.Once you remove these screws you can bring the cage and radio forward. You will then see the side security screws holding the radio to the craddle. Remove the screws and the radio can be removed.
Hope this helps.
