Mend Hotpoint VTD00 Tumble Dryer Drum Belt

hot air but not rotatinghotpoint vtd00 desperate?

hi i have a hotpoint dryer model vtd00,it is blowing hot air but the drum is motionless,could it be the belt?really desperate for some help as my washing is piling up rapidly!really grateful for replies x

Hotpoint Hotpoint VTD00 Household Appliances, Tumble Dryers Tumble Dryer Drum Belt

the special tool is a bit of copper piping to go over the end of the motor so the belt can slip over, without ripping off your fingers. make sure you test it for a good 5 minutes (both directions) if it is repaired by someone else as ours has been scrapping 90% of the time after being put back together again badly.

Yes it will be the belt. A new thicker belt is now fitted by hotpoint but you need a special tool to fit the old or new type belt
