Just had that problem - in my case it was a bad memory module. Corsair 3200 went bad. memory test didnt detect it... had 2 strips pulled everything and replaced one at a time starting with memory found the bad chip

I would suggest a complete format of the drive before starting and you may want to check your CD, does it have any scratches?
