Check your pc user guide for where your brightness and contrast controls are located on your keyboard. Then adjust them to see if you accidentally turned down your brightness. That's the easy fix. If that's not it, the best thing to do is take it to a reputable pc repair shop and have them just check the LCD to see if the connection is bad or if your LCD is shot. If your LCD is shot, get a quote form the pc repair shop. If they say several hundred dollars, then you can check the internet for low priced LCDs for your brand & model number, just type in 'Laptop LCD displays' on Yahoo, or you could get lucky & find one on ebay for "buy it now" like I did for $99. They are not hard to replace yourself if you have any mechanical ability at all. The plastic strips that encircle the LCD and keyboard just pop up with a little upward pressure where the LCD hinges onto the keyboard. Then you should be able to see the connection from the LCD to the bottom (keyboard) of the laptop. It should be a small plug that unplugs. Sometimes you have to remove the hinges from the keyboard only to get to it. If that sounds too scary for you, just purchase the LCD online & take it to a reputable pc repair shop to put it in for you. They shouldn't charge you more than about $35 to do it, and you should be able to get the LCD online for less than $200. Before I found mine on ebay, I was still only going to pay about $159 from a computer store online. Here's a good place to start:
