Mend Yamaha CDC-625 Cd Working Player

Yamaha CDC-625 - cd tray not working?

I have a 1986 Yamaha CD player (CDC-625) and the cd tray is not opening or closing properly. How do I fix? Thanks.

This is an easy fix ... open the player (i.e. take casing apart so you see the insides) and you will find the belt mentioned in the previous reply. That band is old and loose. You can use a standard rubber band to replace the existing one and you will be good to go.

I believe the drawer drive belt is worn. I am having the same probelm with the same model of Yamaha cd changer as you as well as another Yamaha model.

It is a cheap fix and you may be able to do it yourself. See if any local repairer has small CD player drawer drive belts first!
