The squeak on my tumble drier was caused by the small copper strip at the back of the drier, the part is called a drum earth contact strip, price approx £7.50 inc vat + p/p.
The drier that i have is a hotpoint tl61p

THE COPPER STRIP ALLOWS STATIC ELECTRICITY TO DISCHARGE FROM THE DRUM TO EARTH. SQUEEKS ARE NORMALLY CAUSED BY WORN OR DRY BEARINGS,DEPENDING ON THE MAKE AND MODEL,IT COULD BE FELT,NYLON OR A PHOSPHUR BRONZE BUSH BEARING. IF THEY BECOME WORN YOU HAVE METAL TO METAL CONTACT.

I forgot to say the copper strip can be found by removing the rear panel.

What model is it? I found that a squeak on my hopoint was caused by a copper strip which is in contact with a domed steel piece. The strip had completly worn through causing a squeak.
I dont know what function the strip has though?
