Mend Start Morning Fine

My NSR125 fails to start?

I have an H Reg NSR125 which I ride to work and back. Tuesday morning it ran fine to work, I even topped up the oil before leaving for work. Tuesday night I came to leaving work and it wouldn't start after trying for 1 1/2 hours. I left the bike overnight and stayed near by in my girlfriends (I live 12 miles away). I came in this morning and tried starting it at lunch time and it will not start still.

Can anybody please give me pointers on how to get it started?

sound like same problem i had definately a ignition prob,Check all earths on the bike first.take plug out of engine make sure its earthed to a engine stud try start her up, if theres no spark the either plugs shaged or coil. use a multimeter and see if there is any reading to the coil negative of the multi meter to the green wire to the coil and posotive to the black and yellow wire if the is a reading then either the coil, surpressior cap of plug is past its best.if there was no spark then your CDI unit Rectifier/Regulator, pick up sensor or stator is a fault. disconnect the wire coming out of the engine with 3 yellow wires, use the multi meter set to ohms (resistance) and check al three wires against each other you should get a reading over 1.5 if not stator is knackered.next disconnect the connector from the engine blue and white wires use the multimeter to see if there is any resistance as you try turn the bike over.you should get a pluse around 6volts this is the pick up sensor this tells your cdi when to spark if this is o.k then disconnect the rectifier/regulator check the resistance between the the connectors the 3 yellow wires go to you should again get a reading of around 1.5 if its well under or highly over then the R/R is Dead (a common fault in most honda R/R units(Replace it with a YAMAHA one only difference is the 3 yellow wires are white on a YAMAHA R/R and they last longer))if none of these work then it looks like your CDI is Dead imposssible to repair get a new one try a breakers for a second hand one There £116 from the dealers. are you sure the engine kill switch is in the run position? Also try disconnecting the ignition barrel from the wiring harness this by passes it! (main reason why NSR's are A theiving b***ards popular choice of bike to steal!)try start the bike without it (magic it starts without it!) any questions the email me at pinktigger@boltblue.com

sounds silly, fuel level ? not teaching to suck eggs...but try full choke and no throtle for a few good hard kicks.....do all indications come on when you turn the key ? assuming its the same as my old f reg 125 r/k then should start with a low bat with kick start..... started yet ???
no ? then...... is your plug lead still on the plug ? if yes then try a new spark plug...probably about £2
if still not running...the main fuse ? but then the indications wouldn't be there ! there....some things to ponder !
