I have just bought a vauxhall frontera 4x4 estate 1996 2.2 ltr and I am finding it difficult to deactivate. Once I have opened the car door I put the fob against the panel that is just above the key ignition and assumingly it goes off, but as soon as I put the key in the ignition the alarm goes off! What am I doing wrong?

Can someone help me please, I have a ford escort 1995 and need to disable the immobilser, can someone please advice how I can do this, the reason is the only immobilser key I have has a red mark on it and the has worn down and no longer works in the lock, I have another standard key (no immobilser). I don't want to fork out £100+ for new imobilser keys.

put the key into the ignition hold the fob over the sensor. wait for the light to stop and then go off. then you can start the car.
