can i just change over my faulty digibox or do i have to inform sky?
my amstrad sky digibox has locked up i.e. stand by light is stuck at red. do i press the back up button, then turn off power, i cannot remember the rest of the procedure. can anyone help?
You only have to 'pair' the box and card if you have premium channels like Sports or Movies.
Sky will charge you £65 for a call and will replace the box if it is faulty as part of that call with a three month warranty. Or you can but a second hand box on EBay.

You can change the box over yourself....when you do...phone sky and get them to pair the card to the box..they will ask for a job number but just tell them you are a private customer...they will ask you for your name and address then ask for card number.....then version number of box and serial number( press services button...then 4 and 5).
Your box has a faulty power supply and depending on model,i.e.drx 100 or 200, you can get a replacement from satcure, or if you are any good with a soldering iron, buy an upgrade kit for the psu..that should repair the box...hope this helps
