Power off first. disconnect your machine from the hoses and carefully lay it on its back. You will then see the motor. You will see 2 thin wires that connect to each motor brush.
To remove them you need to disconnect the wires then carefully pull and lift the connector in one motion. This will release the spring/motor brush.
