how can i fix my BROKSONIC DVCR-810 SERIES B DVD ANDVCR COMBO?

Sounds like the unit in PAL instead of NTSC for the U.S. Goto the menu and change it to the opposite.

I have put the link for Broksonic (USA) above.
They no longer service machines in this country.

I have spoken to a qualified TV engineer and he said either the laser which reads the discs needs cleaning or the laser itself needs replacing, which would be expensive and I should just get a new machine, as he wasn't going to rip me off and charge exorbitant prices. ( Well done, Eddie - West Monkseaton, Tyneside- 0191 2511483 )

Tesco have a 'Technika' machine, which is exactly the same as the Broksonic, apart from the different names on the front. Same buttons in same places. £70.

Asda also have dvcr's for £70, but I think the Asda ones MAY play copies. Please check before buying.

Hi there,
I have the same problem, 'incorrect disc' displayed, when, it is the correct disc !!
I unplugged my dvcr for about 8 hours, to enable the machine to lose it's memory, to reset the clock and hopefully whatever was wrong with it.
Didn't work !!
Help !!!!!! Please !!!!
I have my hi-fi next to the tv, as it is cinema sound, in a very small room.
Does Broksonic have a homepage, as I can't find it ?

I had the same problems. I finally turned the TV and DVD player off and disconnected them both from the wall sockets overnight. The next day the DVD player was fine. The manual mentioned electro static charges causing trouble and I figured that overnight the charge would dissapate. Give it a try and good luck.
