How can I fix my Zanussi fls1383w?

Recently the cycle indicator on my Zanussi fls 1383 w has become loose. It actually just spins round so I haven't a clue what programme I am on. I have ordered a new cycle indicator but am unsure how to fit it. Does the knob pull off from the front? Or do I have to access from inside the machine? I don't want to force it in case I damage it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as funds are tight!
