Mend Ariston Margherita 2000 Machine

Fault diagnosis on Ariston Margherita 2000?

I have had my washing machine for some years, it has started to trip the fuses when I press the start button, the programme will start for seconds then trip the fuses and stop??

I have checked for water in the machine it is dry?
