Thank you this is really great, my webpage now opens faster and I had to reset my browser only once.
Thank you so much.

Hi all,

The advice to turn off the windows live tool bar was really helpful! Can you add a little more and tell me do you need to uninstall the toolbar and then has this fully removed the problem?

Thanks

I think the search_glow thing is also at fault for not causing tabbed pages to work. Just disable the Windows Live Toolbar and it works so so much better and I got my tabbed pages back! Result!

Search_Glow is a part of Windows Live Toolbar. It is not believed to be any security threat, but it has been known to slow down/freese up MANY computers. Obviously it is a weak link, and can be fixed by simply uninstaling the toolbar from Add or Remove Programs. There is a great write-up with a little more detail of what it is at: http://windowssecrets.com/comp/070111/
Hope it helps!

The following instructions apply to Internet Explorer 7. Close all applications and all open brower pages--close everything. Go to START/Accessories/System Tools/Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) to assess the status of IE. Once this assessment completes, open a browser page and go to a website to see if the page loads more quickly than before. If it still moves slowly, close down all open windows--everything. What you will do next is reset your browser to factory default settings. That means you will take your computer to where it was before you installed add-ons, leaving you with what you had at the outset of having installed IE7. Go to START/Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced (tab at top right of page)/Reset (bottom right of page)/OK/Reset--I had to perform Reset twice before it worked for me on both my computers. Again, the latter action described above will reset your browser to factory default settings. Hitting Reset will open a page which lists the resets being performed as they are occurring. Once the reset is complete, again, open a browser page and type in a website to see if the browser takes you to your site more quickly. Finally, you will be taken to a page that asks you to set your default browser page. Make your browser page Live.
