How to mend parkinson cowan ovation cooker?

Parkinson cowan ovation gas cooker. Timer eratic does not allow me to put on manual flashes all the time thus stops ovens being used, hob and grill are fine as is rest of cooker. Is it possible to bypass timer as it was rarely used. Thank you
