Mend Ford Fiesta Currently Cassette

How do I put a CD player into my 1999 Ford Fiesta?

The fiesta currently has a big central panel with big cassette stereo that covers about 3 square meters(!). I want to put a CD player into it but haven't got a clue how. Is there some sort of converter that I can buy - if so where can I find one?
Any help is good help!
Cheers

Forgot to say, you'll need stereo removal pins. They're about £5 in Halfords/anywhere similar, or about £2 on eBay. They fit into the two pairs of holes on the front of the Ford stereo.

I have limited knowledge myself, but as far as I know most stereos have standard connections. When you take the Ford stereo out you'll find three plugs on the back (power, speakers, aerial). If these won't fit directly to your new stereo then you'll be able to buy a simple converter for around £10 from Halfords/anywhere similar (you may need a separate converter for the aerial).

Assuming you want to fit a standard sized stereo, you also have the problem of the big gap left by the Ford stereo. For this you can buy a surround that will fit around your new stereo and neatly into the gap, for less than a tenner I think.
