I have a Delonghi range cooker . It was a pile of rubbish right from the very start ! The fan was very noisy and we had an engineer out to us twice and made no difference at all !!
The problem now is that it repeatedly burns the wiring loom out at the back of the cooker ! I haven't a clue why but it completely melts it ! I'll never in my life buy anything else from Delonghi !!!

could anyone help with I believe the same switch as everyone is talking about? It was a bit dodgy, have cleaned and it works again, but as it was bought on ebay have no manual, and somebody has overzealously cleaned off all the symbols and temperatures around both oven control knobs. It would be great to know what they say. Many thanks.

I have this oven also - bain of my life calling ppl out to fix it.

It has broken every 6 months since we bought it, always the same problem, over heating nothing works so a wiring loom and switch is fitted.

Never again will I ever purchase anything from Delonghi

Unfortunately we have one of these DeLonghi range cookers too.

Won't be buying DeLonghi again.
May the credit crunch - well, err.

It's about 5 years old and was bought new.

About 2 - 3 years after buying it the described problem with the oven arose.

I removed the function switch as it had obviously been overloaded shown by the melted plastic lobes on the function switch rear operating cam(s).

I did an internet search on the part number which for your reference is 3095/4.

Bought a new switch, about £32 IIRC - just the switch - can't remember where from.

I have the old one in front of me now as I have been doing another internet search these last few days following the failure of the the new switch fitted about 2 years ago.

Same problem - overheated again.

Obviously a design problem somewhere as I see on here there have been many failures.

My latest internet search reveals only 1 supplier for the switch and loom at Currys Partmasters, see www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=824982&brand=Delonghi&model=dfs901ss&part= at £66.99.

We bought the cooker from Currys.

Good to see they are looking after their customers when there is a DESIGN FAULT.

May the credit crunch - well, err.

Just out of interest take a look at how much other, even small, parts cost from Currys Partmaster for this cooker.

We have one of these www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=178143&query=Delonghi%20dfs901ss%20&model=dfs901ss with a broken leg - a bargain at £11.99.

Hope you don't need any small self tappers for your cooker at £2.99 each www.partmaster.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=288573&query=Delonghi%20dfs901ss%20&model=dfs901ss.

If anyone has found a, non rip off, source for the switch and loom please post on here and email me at m8srus@tiscali.co.uk .

I will be replacing the loom and switch this time but £66.99 is taking the piss.

Did I hear someone say 'over a barrel'.

Hey I have this exact problem. Mark or anyone who has had the wireing loom and switch replaced how much did it cost, preferably just labor?

i am an domestic appliance enginer and have fixed a lot of this cookers. the fault is in the wiring which puts to much load through the function switch. the proper way to repair this is to replace the function switch and complete wiring loom. if you have only replaced the switch it will go again.

I also had a similar problem first the fan stopped then the rotisserie then the top & bottom oven and eventually the oven & grill, took the oven apart myself as electrician would not as had gas hob and electric oven and he was not corgi registered! the multifunction switch had burnt out, found the switch a lot cheaper than from delonhi www.timms.biz and
Sales@sparez.co.uk 01724 848906 around £41 plus postage.
As last entry do not try unles you are competant and have someone to hold the wires as you work, a bit tricky. but my oven now works! October 2008

i have the same sort of problem except my grill and oven comes on at once. It cooks fine but burns food so needs covering with tin foil.

i had a delonghi range cooker that went like that.it was the multi switch (the knob on the front that you select which function you want to use)it had burnt out. i contacted delonghi parts dept and fitted it myself.
(please do not try this unless you are confident dealing with wiring, connectors etc) hope this helps.
