Clean the root cyclones of a Dyson?

Anyone tried to clean thoroughly the root cyclones of a Dyson DC08? This is the plastic cones that fit inside the transparent bowl that collect the dust.
I'd like to take it apart to clean it nicely with water and then let it dry but I'm scare that I wont be able to put it back and make sure it's sealed properly.
I can see two small screws on top of it which I guess would do the trick but I just need to make sure it's doable before I attempt anything, my wife would kill me if I cannot get it back in order.

Remove the 2 screws at the top (you'll need a Torx screwdriver for this), then pull the grey handle off - slide it along its axis, by pulling away from where the screws were.

Then you need to remove the inner "cone" - just pull it to detach it from the main cyclone bit (the one with all the holes in it). This exposes 3 more screws. You can now pull apart the cyclone assembly.

There are 2 more screws inside the cyclone assembly if you want to disassemble the whole thing, but this shouldn't be necessary.

Take a look on Ebay uk there is dyson information on servicing for sale.

dont bother, dyson glued both parts together so you have to buy new cyclone assy, removing the screws does nothing. a new cyclone assy is about 30 pounds.

Hi Gael

The two screws on top are only half the way of getting the cyclone apart - I am still working on it getting it apart - sorry for not having more information
