GRUNDIG 200 in SAFE Mode?

Hi all,
Hope someone can help. I had to disconnect the Grundig 200 in my Corsa and since reconnecting I am unable to enter the Code. I know my code is correct as I have used it before. My display is showing "SAFE" and I am unable to get to the code entry I have the instructions and have done it several times in the past.
I have also left the radio on for hours hoping that the reset timer will kick in but it does not.
My manual says to take it back to a Vaxhaul Dealer to have it reset if it shows "SAFE" but this will probably cost more than the radio is worth.
Any help appreciated.

Hello I have Grundig car200 and I have the code but I'm stuck in safe mode, and the display only show SAFE, and no bip when turn on the radio with down AS Key and ingnition on . Yesterday I leave the radio on but nothing happened. How can leave the SAFE mode and I introduce the code? Regards

I have same problem, just leave the radio on for 24 hour and the counter will reset automatically

switching the car on and whilst pressing AS till yu hear the beep works!!! just sorted mine now! thanx

Push the AS button and keep it pushed, at the same time turn on the ignition.
After this you will hear a beep sound. Now you can release the AS button.
and when you have entered the code hold the as button till it beeps again all done enjoy

Grundig 200 car radio can decode in the next way:

First step: Switch off the radio and the ignition as well.
Second step: Push the AS button and keep it pushed, at the same time turn on the ignition.

After this you will hear a beep sound. Now you can release the AS button.

Now you can enter the code in the next way: The first number can be set with the button ''1'', the second number of your code can be set with button ''2'' and so on. By pushing the ''1'',''2'',3'',''4'' buttons the value indicated in the screen will be increased by one. So if the first number of your code is 5 then you have to push the button ''1'' 5 times.

Hi,
Tried again as you suggested but got the same result Display showing SAFE and no beeps. Car Radio Model is a Grundig 200 (D) Serial No is GM0200T1886419 and the unlock code is 8834

did u turn the key in ignition positione do it and turn the radio press AS and hold turn off the radio wil pressing AS count to 10 wil pressing AS and turn on the radio wil pressig AS till you hear Beeb enter your code no press AS till you hear Beeb if doesnt work ineed the model no and the serial no

Tried the AS suggestion but still stays in safe mode. Buying a new cd/radio(S) is what caused the problem, tried four radios and three different models all fitted by Halfords, none of them would work????

hi turn on your car press the AS key and hold turn off the radio count to 10 turn onthe radio
you need to keep pressing AS when u do the stips the AS key is the enter by press and hold
