How can I release a stuck pin?

I am having trouble with an old Danfoss valve. Hot water will not flow into the Radiater.
The pin is stuck. When I have had this problem with another radiator, I have been able to pull the pin out but this one I can't. If I loosen the adjacent nut will that release the pin or will I have a flood.
