its the clutch pedal sensor not seated properly under dash board on clutch pedal turn it anti clock wise then push back in and turn clockwise that should sort it out

Sounds Peugeot/Citroen,
Get it scanned using P.P. for Peugeot or Lexia for Citroen.
Anything other than manufacturers diagnostics can give false and costly incorrect results.

Exact model and engine?
Year?
Whatever it is, a good first step is to get the engine management codes read. That may tell you where it thinks the problem is.
